The 20x Method

Find your number

What you spend in a year, grown to the year you stop working, times 20. Then whether what you hold gets you there. The figures below are an example from the live training. Replace them with yours.

How it is calculated. Future spending = spending × (1 + inflation)years. Your number = 20 × future spending. Growth compounds monthly at the yearly rate divided by 12, the same way the calculator on the live training did. Past growth rates are not a promise about future ones; change the assumptions and see what moves.

Not advice. A worked example of the 20x method so you arrive at the call with your own figures written down.
